The Lie? That Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) had called the U.S. Constitution “silly.” On the April 1st edition of Fox and Friends, the hosts repeatedly lied about what McDermott had actually said, and omitted the context in which he said say. |
|
The Truth McDermott had gone on the floor of the U.S. House and complained that since the current session of Congress has convened, Republicans have brandished the U.S. Constitution in a variety of ways that aren’t necessarily meaningful. “I am tired of reading the constitution and all the silly things we have done for the last 13 weeks,” he said. He was clearly not saying the constitution is silly. He was decrying the new, attention being paid, by Republicans, to issues that have nothing to do with creating jobs. The three hosts of Fox and Friends were cheerfully telling a FOX-FACED LIE! (sources: MEDIAite.com and mediamatters.org) |
Fox and Friends’ “Silly Constitution” Lie
Posted by freedoms66 on April 4th, 2011
Please, why do you have Allen on Fox, if he were more to the left he could not walk. Sure, spend more money on the stimulus, from where! He is diluted.
Love the programs but when he is on I move to another channel, most of the time!
Brad, What?
First, WHAT does “Allen” have to do with the people on Fox and Friends saying somebody called the U.S. Constitution silly, when they really didn’t?
Secondly, I guess you don’t realize that this web site has nothing to do with who Fox News chooses to hire.
As a Washingtonian, this particular lie burns.
