The Lie? Although it’s only late October, FoxNewsLies.net can’t imagine any Fox News Lie being bigger than this one in 2013. That’s why Sean Hannity’s October 11th ruse he titled “Universal Nightmare,” is easily the FoxNewsLies.net’s 2013 “Lie of the Year!” Hannity was so sure he’d found proof that Obamacare is a “train wreck,” he aired the questionable claims by three couples who said they were facing hardships because of the Affordable Care Act. As it turns out, all of their claims were false. An enterprising contributor to Salon.com/ - Eric Stern - contacted the participants in Hannity’s ill-researched charade, and he found they were anti-Obama, anti-Obamacare non-victims of Obamacare. It’s not their false claims, that constitute the FoxNewsLies.net’s “Lie of the Year.” It’s Hannity’s unwilliness to concede he’d duped his audience. |

The Truth Stern contacted the owner of a construction company - Paul Cox of Leicester, N.C., who’d told Hannity that he was unable to grow his company because of Obamacare. That he had to limit his workers’ hours so they could be maintained as to part-time. Stern discovered Cox only has four employees, and that his company wouldn’t be affected by Obamacare. “Well,” he said, “I haven’t been forced to do so, it’s just that I’ve chosen to do so. I have to deal with increased costs,” Cox told Stern. Stern then asked what costs he was talking about. “There was a long pause, after which he said he’d call me back. He never did,” wrote Stern.Stern also contacted the other people who’d appeared on Hannity’s “panel.” They, too, had told Hannity they would be encumbered by Obamacare. But they, too, refused to investigate Obamacare for themselves, because they’re conservatives who aren’t inclined to believe in its benefits. If they had, according to Stern, they would have found, as Stern did, that their health insurance coverages could be less expensive than the coverages they now have.
